Virginia McCrary

Virginia McCrary, age 95, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 8:25 p.m. in Pinckneyville Health Care Center, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Virginia was born in Du Quoin, Ill. on Jan. 12, 1918, a daughter to Bryan and Irene (Marlow) Eaton. She married Wilbur L. "Beak" McCrary on July 10, 1941, in Perryville, Mo. and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1995. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill., and worked at MCA records for a number of years before retiring. Virginia enjoyed quilting, working in her yard and tending to her flowers. She was a loving wife and mother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include one son: Jack Bryan (Sandra) McCrary of Pinckneyville, Ill., one daughter: Judith Kay Childers of Camdenton, Mo., five grandchildren: Jim (Andrea) McCrary, Heather (Jay) Graham, Tom (Rebecca) McCrary, Scott Childers and Robin (Craig) Betcher, eight great grandchildren: Aaron and Sara McCrary, Zachary and Evan Graham, Deianira and Breseia McCrary and Kaylee and Brynn Betcher, one sister: Geneva (Harold) Helvey of Pinckneyville, Ill. and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Loraine Ozburn and a son-in-law, Fred Childers.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Charles Boling officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Friends may call at the First Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
