Billie Mae Perkins Moorman

Billie Mae Perkins Moorman was born at home in Fort Worth, Tex. to loving parents Ersey Embry and Etta Mae Perkins on June 21, 1935. After a very long and hard fought battle with lymphoma, she passed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 25, 2013, with her daughter and son-in-law holding her hand.

Memorial service is at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at a later date in Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur, Tex. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Billie was a graduate of North Side High School and Durham Business College. She used her knowledge and skills in the professional world until her retirement. Until her recent return home to Texas she had spent the past 27 years in Du Quoin, Ill., where she loved being with her friends and actively participating as a member of the Spirit of Life Christian Church.

Billie was a kind and loving person who touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gordon Perkins, Leroy Perkins and Leon Perkins and sisters, Irene Peyton, Ruby Ola Taylor and Lola Marie Perkins.

Billie is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Moorman TeGantvoort and husband, Jeffrey; grandsons, Gregory TeGantvoort and wife, Lauren, and Steven TeGantvoort, all of Saginaw, Tex.
