James David Oxford
James David Oxford, 59, of Du Quoin, passed away at 4:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo..
Jim was a district sales manager for LG Seed Company. He was also a farmer and raised horses and was a laborer.
He was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the VFW Men's Auxiliary and had been a 4-H Club member.
He was born Jan. 16, 1954 at Eldorado, Ill., the son of Adiel L. and Mary (Mead) Oxford.
He married Karen Kay Furlow on Jan. 18, 2003 at Du Quoin, Ill. and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, mother- Mary Oxford of Ridgway, two daughters- Jennifer Tirey and husband Kevin of Springfield and Jaime Brown and husband Ryan of Augusta, Ga., son- Keith Furlow of Du Quoin, four grandchildren- Flynn Tirey, Katharine Tirey, Samuel Brown and Avery Brown, sister- Judy Oxford Taylor and husband Robert of Cleveland, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway with Rev. Randy Davis officiating.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Oxford- Rutherford Cemetery at Rock Creek.
Friends may make memorials to the Disabled Veterans Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
