Du Quoin District 300 to open track at DHS to walkers beginning July 1

The Du Quoin Board of Education has voted to open the all-weather track at the Du Quoin High School to walkers in the mornings beginning July 1.

The track will be open to the public from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

"Once school starts we will have times available in the evening as well. We will be asking that walkers please park in the student parking lot and enter at the southeast gate of the facility. Construction of the new football field restrooms and entry way will be taking place during the next few weeks and we want people to avoid that area," said District 300 Supt. Dr. Gary Kelly.

" We will also ask that walkers use the two outside lanes of the track when walking," he said.
