Footings poured this week for new press box at PCHS' Quillman Field
The Pinckneyville High School board of education this summer accepted low bids on the construction of a new press box at Quillman football field.
The understructure bid for the new press box at Quillman Field at Pinckneyville Community High School went to Kellerman Bros. at $66,100.
The bid for the structure itself went to Contempri at the May PCHS Board meeting. Their bid was $39,750.
Superintendent Keith Hagene said excavation begins this week. Footings will also be set this week. The steel supports for the building have been ordered.
Once the understructure is nearly finished, Contempri will begin putting together the building. Contempri will build the structure in less than a week. It will then be set in place with a crane.
The new press box should be complete before the next football season begins.
