Nicholas C. Dolce

Nicholas C. Dolce, 84, of Willisville, passed away at 5:27 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, Illinois.

He was born Jan. 6, 1929 in Murphysboro, Illinois the son of Joe and Nettie (Schiro) Dolce. Nicholas married Betty R. Siefert on Dec. 18, 1954 in Mississippi. She survives.

Nick was the retired owner of Nick Dolce Ceramic Tile. He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Willisville, Ill.

Nick was a life member of the Campbell Hill American Legion Post # 1096, the V.F.W. Kaskaskia Post #3653 in Chester and the Brick Layers and Allied Craftmen. He was a former member of the Village Board at Willisville, Village Clerk and John A. Logan Foundation Board. He was also a member of the Southern Illinois Builders Association.

He is survived by his wife, Betty R. Dolce, Willisville, Ill.; son: Nicholas J.(Mary) Dolce, Willisville, Ill.; daughter: Maria (Amer) Al-Eneiss, Carbondale, Ill.; grandchildren: Nicholas J. II (Tracy) Dolce, Mario (Lisa) Dolce, Basil Al-Eneiss and Layla Al-Eneiss; great grandchildren: Natalie Dolce and Noah Dolce. Nick is also survived by a brother, Ignatius Dolce of Sesser, Ill., two sisters, Angeline Alms and Frances Rohlfing, both of Willisville.; three sisters-in-law: Audrey Taylor, Ilene Tregoning and Janet Neville, all of Du Quoin; three brothers-in-law: Glen (Marilyn) Siefert, Canton, Ill., Don (Betty) Siefert and Hershel (Eileen) Siefert, both of Du Quoin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Nicholas is preceded in death by his parents and two infant siblings.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Willisville, Illinois with Father Leo J. Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Willisville, Ill. Visitation will be at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville on Wednesday where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
