Nita H. Westerhouse

Nita H. Westerhouse, 83, of Du Quoin, passed away at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013 at her residence.

Nita was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Du Quoin and had sung in the church choir for many years. She was also a member of the Du Quoin Gold Plate.

She was born April 7, 1930 at Indianapolis, Ind., the daughter of Paul and Claudia (Sufferidge) Davis.

Nita married Charles F. Westerhouse in March of 1947 at Indianapolis, Ind. and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son - Charles "Chuck" Westerhouse and wife Rebecca of Taylorville, three daughters - Mary Lou Rush and husband Tim of Cape Coral, Fla., Laura Skorczewski and husband John of Nashville and Jayne Keniston and husband Ned of Reynolds, Ind., 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter - Claudia Foley and one brother.

Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Russ Ragovin officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be at a later date in Indiana.
