Reola Imogene McNeill
Reola Imogene McNeill, age 89, of Du Quoin, Ill., passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 at 8:25 a.m. in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Carbondale, Ill.
Reola was born on Feb. 23, 1924 in Du Quoin, Ill., a daughter to Ben and Essie (Bowlin) Wilson. On Sept. 3, 1944, she married Loren McNeill in Du Quoin, Ill. and he preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1998. Reola was a member of the First Baptist Church, Du Quoin, Ill., where she played a very active role in church activities including Irma Franks Mission Circle, the bereavement committee, Sunday school classes and teaching Bible School. She worked as an administrative secretary at the Perry County Courthouse for the highway department and then at the Hills Ladies Store, Du Quoin, Ill., where she retired as manager after 13 years. Reola took a very active role in her community, including being a longtime member of the Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary and the Du Quoin Study Club. She enjoyed traveling, crafting and dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen (Dave) Devine of Henderson, Nev. and Rhonda (Randy) Morgan of Marion, Ill.; five grandchildren, Keith (Ruth) Sims of Du Quoin, Ill., Craig (Grace) Sims of Chesapeake, Va., Justin Morgan of Marion, Ill., Travis (Leslie) Morgan of Copely, Ohio and Corey Morgan of Edwardsville, Ill.; nine great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kolby, Sasha, Isabella, Olivia, Preston, Bailee, Brockton and Logan; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Howard, Everett, Charles and Benny Wilson; one sister, Helen Parsons and one nephew, Morris Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, Ill. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Charles Smith officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Du Quoin, Ill.
Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, Ill. on Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Du Quoin, Ill. Building Fund or the American Heart Association.
