Donna M. Tuthill

Donna M. Tuthill, 81, of Elkville, passed away at 6:16 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013 at her home.

Donna was a homemaker and seamstress and had worked at the Pinckneyville sewing factory. She was a member of the Elkville Christian Church. She enjoyed shopping and loved spending time with her grandson, Luke. She was a very caring and the best mom anybody could ask for. She loved being with her family.

She was born Nov. 21, 1931 in Jackson County, Ill. the daughter of Thomas Glenn and Edith M. (Clover) Rains.

Donna married Kenneth Tuthill, her best friend for almost 50 years, on April 18, 1964 at Benton, Ill. and he survives.

She is survived by her husband of Elkville, children- Ann Craig and husband Bill of Carbondale, Darlene Porter of Elkville, Linda Gossage and husband Bruce of Herrin, Michael Lee Florence and wife Amy of Wisconsin, Gail (Tuthill) Mifflin of Elkville, Angel Hunziker and husband Billy of Elkville, step children- Kenneth E. Tuthill of Dowell, Richard Tuthill and wife Sandra of Vergennes, Ronnie Tuthill of Marion, Steve Tuthill and wife Jane Ann of Elkville, grandchildren- Paula Dame, Kenneth Porter, Grace Florence, Tony Charles, Sheila Young, Freddy Murray, Donna Murray, Connie Murray, special buddy and grandson- Luke Hunziker, step grandchildren- Brian Tuthill, Eric Tuthill, Kevin Tuthill, Wayne Tuthill, Richie Tuthill, Penny Wyatt, Shawn Tuthill, Chris Tuthill, Kelsie Tuthill and Trent Tuthill, many great grandchildren, sister- Alta Varner and husband Norman of Murphysboro, two brothers- Dale Rains and wife Norma of Collinsville, Benny Rains and wife Francis of Millstadt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step mother Pearl Rains, son-in-law- Paul Porter, two step daughters-in-law- Tina Tuthill Rene Tuthill.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Brother Gary Pruitt officiating.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Parrish Cemetery at Vergennes.

Friends may make memorials to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
