Dean Hunsaker
Dean Hunsaker, 87, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at her residence.
Dean had been an operator and worked in the front office for GTE for many years. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Marion. Dean had been an avid bowler for many years.
She was born April 5, 1926 at Ozark, Ill., the daughter of Herbert L. and Irene M. (Boner) Boner.
She first married John W. Hartsock in 1943 in Missouri and he passed away in 1947. She then married Donald G. Hunsaker on Nov. 22, 1958 at Elkville, Ill. and he passed away in 2002.
She is survived by two daughters- Donna Potter and husband Bill of St. Louis and Marsha Crites and husband Gary of Dawson, Ill., step daughter- Susan Steidl and husband Peter of Pleasant Grove, Ala., step daughter-in-law- Christine Hunsaker of Arab, Ala., sister- Betty Hamilton of St. Louis, brother- J.H. Boner and wife Joan of Chicago, six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way. The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers for the past several years - Sharon Knapp, Barbie McArthur, Pat Koenig, Rachel Davison and Liz Wynn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, step son- Robert Hunsaker and two sisters- Jean Kelley and Joan Craig.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Evangelist Marvin Kleinau and Elder Marion Kleinau officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery at Carbondale.
