Robert A. Knapp
Robert A. Knapp, 61, of Tamaroa, passed away at 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013 at his residence.
Robert had worked at Nascote Industries on the production line. He was a previous member of the First Baptist Church of Nashville, Ill. and had served as a deacon. He was a Village Trustee of Tamaroa and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Tamaroa.
He was born Dec. 31, 1951 at Du Quoin, Ill., the son of Lawrence and Eugenia (Tkaczyk) Knapp.
He married Elaine Galloway on Dec. 21, 1979 and they later divorced. He then married Beth Fox on Nov. 14, 2011 at Pinckneyville and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Tamaroa, three children - Katie Schubert and husband Scott of Bellevue, Neb., Amy Knapp of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Jillian Knapp of Du Quoin, one grandchild - Brailey Williams of Du Quoin, two step children - Alissa McKinney and husband Errick and Michael Funke, all of Nashville, Ill., siblings - James Knapp and wife Frances of Dowell, Nancy Quinn and husband Salathiel of Du Quoin, Phyllis Ferguson of Tamaroa, Loretta Adcock and husband Gary of Tamaroa, Betty Roberts and husband Dave of Tamaroa, Jerry Knapp and wife Carolyn of Tamaroa, Susy Kuberski and husband Rich of Du Bois, Mary Jo Rybacki and husband Roger of Du Quoin, Nelson Knapp of Tamaroa, sister-in-law - Eileen Knapp of Du Quoin, brother-in-law - Greg Ratajczyk, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister - Cathy Ratajczyk and one brother - Leonard Knapp.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Rev. C.L. McKinnies officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
A Masonic service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Burial will be in the Tamaroa Cemetery at Tamaroa.
Friends may make memorials to the St. Bruno School or St. Mary's Hospice of Mt. Vernon and will be accepted at the funeral home.
