Linda S. Marter

Linda S. Marter, age 66, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at 5:57 p.m. at Des Peres Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

Linda was born on July 7, 1947 in Du Quoin, Ill., a daughter to George "Kenny" and Dorothy Elizabeth (Brock) Harsy. On Dec. 31, 1975, she married Ralph C. Marter in the First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill., and he survives. She was a member of New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville, Ill., was a homemaker and dearly loved her family and spending time with her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandson.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Ralph Marter of Pinckneyville, Ill.; her daughter, Robin Carson of Pinckneyville, Ill.; two grandchildren, Chad Ray Bennett Jr. of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Ashley Nicole Daniels of Pinckneyville, Ill.; her great-grandson, Chad Ray Bennett III of Pinckneyville, Ill. and her good friends, LaDonna (Rich) Peradotto of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Erla (Leroy) Lacy of Pinckneyville, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her father, George "Kenny" Harsy; her mother, Dorothy Day, and her stepfather, Bill Day.

Funeral services will be held at New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor James Clardy officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Du Quoin, Ill.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
