Helen Jewel Kelley

Helen Jewel Kelley, 89, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:56 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Helen was a retired executive secretary for Ely Lily Company in Indianapolis, Ind.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Du Quoin. She was a member of the Senior Citizens and the Du Quoin Ladies Community Club. Helen was also a member of the Perry County Historical Society and the Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary.

She was born May 22, 1924 at Du Quoin, Ill. the daughter of Dewey C. and Chloe (Matson) Kelley.

She is survived by a sister- Trudy Rabe of New Branfels, Tex., three nephews- Greg Kelley of Du Quoin, Doug Rabe of New Branfels, Tex. and Rick Rabe of Memphis, Tenn., two great nieces- Rebecca Fournier and Katherine Rabe and a great nephew- Matthew Rabe.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister- Ella Kelley.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Russ Ragovin officiating.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Scholarship Fund at the First Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
