Birdie Robison

Birdie Robison, age 71, of Du Quoin, Ill., passed away on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 at 7:55 a.m. in Marshall Browning Hospital Emergency Room, Du Quoin, Ill.

Birdie was born on Sept. 27, 1942 in Du Quoin, Ill., a daughter to Earl and Leola (Harris) Simmons. She married Jimmy T. Robison in Kankakee, Ill. Birdie loved spending time and taking care of her family, bicycle riding, watching and listening to Jimmy Swaggart and cooking, especially her bread pudding.

Survivors include six children, Jimmy Robison of Du Quoin, Ill., Lisa Robison of Du Quoin, Ill., Beverly Cain of Du Quoin, Ill., Leola (Jerry) Gooden of Carterville, Ill., Susan Robison of Carbondale, Ill. and Ronica Henderson of Wentzville, Mo.; five brothers, Kenneth Simmons, Leamon Simmons, Billy Simmons, Robert (Julia) Simmons and Herman Simmons all of Du Quoin, Ill.; one sister, Irene Dunklin of Du Quoin, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Christian, Iesha, Markel, Bernard, Tyrell, Ebany, Travis, Jessica and Shawn; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Eugene Henderson; three brothers, Carl Simmons, George Simmons, Earl Simmons Jr.; three sisters, Loretta Simmons, Mary Jones and Rev. Bessie Lee Bledsoe; two grandchildren, Sanchez Robison and Shydia Robison.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home in Du Quoin, Ill. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. with Apostle Tim Brinson officiating. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Du Quoin, Ill.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home in Du Quoin, Ill. on Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
