Sheriff's Department, Du Quoin & Pinckneyille police make arrest in Willisville marijuana case

On Wednesday, Nov. 13 at approximately 3 p.m. the Perry County Sheriff's Office and members of the Perry County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant in Willisville.

The search warrant was the result of an ongoing drug investigation at a residence located at 307 Peach Street.

George Skurat lives at the residence.

Investigators found numerous items pertaining to the sale of marijuana inside the residence along with approximately 230 grams of a substance believed to be marijuana.

Skurat, 33, of Willisville, was charged with one count of possession with the intent to deliver cannabis over 30 grams but less than 500 grams (Class 3 Felony). Skurat was incarcerated in the Perry County Jail awaiting formal arraignment on charges.

Du Quoin and Pinckneyville police departments assisted the Perry County Sheriff's Office in the investigation.

An investigation is continuing and more charges may be forthcoming.
