Career change: Du Quoin water superintendent resigns

Du Quoin water department superintendent Jeff Whitley submitted his resignation to city administrator Brad Myer this week effective immediately in a change of careers.

Whitley has been an employee of the City of Du Quoin for the past 16 years. Whitley told city officials he has an opportunity for a career change to energy and coal mining.

The city will begin publishing a recruitment advertisement in the newspaper next week seeking qualified applicants.
