Beulah I. Brown

Beulah I. Brown passed away Wednesday morning, Nov. 27, 2013, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg, Ill.

Beulah was born Dec. 14, 1919 in Pinckneyville, Ill. to Otto and Laura (Gass) Tanner. She married Harry W. Brown Jr. on Sept. 21, 1937 in Perryville, Mo. He preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents, brothers Herschel, Harold, Virgil (Butch) and Raymond (in infancy).

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Delbert Penrod, Rochester, Ill.; one sister, Helen Benson, Pinckneyville, Ill.; sister-in-law, Virginia Jackson, Adamsville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Doug (Debbie) Penrod, Athens, Ill., Dennis (Kim) Penrod, Payson, Ill., Leanna (Mark) Barber, Springfield, Ill.; 14 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Beulah accepted Christ as her Savior in 1932. She was a long-time member of Beaucoup Baptist Church in Pinckneyville. Following the death of her husband, she moved to Rochester, Ill. where she united with Rochester First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be at Wilson Park Funeral Home, Rochester, Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. and services at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Saturday, Nov. 30, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Carrothers officiating.

Memorials may be made to either Beaucoup Baptist Church of Pinckneyville or to Rochester First Baptist Church.
