Steven Kent McClanahan

Steven Kent McClanahan, 64, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:12 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Steven had worked in sales at Macy's Department Store and had been a salesman for Vitamin World. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was born June 23, 1949 at Du Quoin, Ill. the son of Raymond P. and Erma E. (Richerson) McClanahan.

Although Steven never married, he treated his nieces and nephews like his own kids.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

Steven is survived by brothers and sisters- Raymond McClanahan and wife Linda of Du Quoin, Glenna Harrison and husband Roger of Du Quoin, Joseph McClanahan of Tamaroa, Terry McClanahan and wife June of Elkville, Linda Stewart and husband Tom of Robinson and Tim McClanahan of Du Quoin, aunts and uncle- JoAnn and Joe Siefert of Du Quoin and Iris Morgan of Du Quoin, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be at a later date in Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Christina Stacey Scholarship Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home.
