PCHS board fills upcoming Loiacono vacancy in school's industrial technology program

The Pinckneyville Community High School Board hired Loren Baird to fill the Industrial Technology position that will be created by the retirement of Sam Loiacono at the conclusion of the current school year.

In other business, the board:

• approved overnight trips for the following:

- Varsity Open Cheerleading Competition in Buffalo Grove, Ill. on Jan. 12.

- FFA 212 Conference in Collinsville on Jan. 24

- Illinois FFA State Job Interview in Macomb on Feb. 7

- IHSA Competitive Dance in Bloomington Jan. 30 - Feb. 1

- IDTA State Dance in Springfield Feb. 14 - 15

- Quad-State Band Festival in Murray, Ky. Feb. 20 - 22

• discussed the possible formation of committees, particularly a Finance Committee. It was decided that the parameters of the committee were for research and fact-finding as well as developing communication channels with the community. Lisa Stanton and Dawn Kellerman-Smith will serve as members.
