Margaret Ann Decker

Margaret Ann Decker, 92, of Du Quoin, formerly of Pinckneyville, passed away at 12:36 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

She owned and operated City Locker Plant in Pinckneyville for many years and had worked as a seamstress at the dress factory.

She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Pinckneyville and the Illinois Garment Workers Union.

She was born April 16, 1921 in Wales, N.D. the daughter of Peter Michael and Elsie (Olson) Groff.

Margaret married Sigmund Erwin Decker and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter- Debbie Hopkins and husband John of Du Quoin, grandchildren- Amy McCollum and husband Roger of Du Quoin and Michael Hopkins of Du Quoin, great grandchildren- Xander McCollum and Keegan McCollum, both of Du Quoin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- James Decker, three brothers and four sisters.

Per Margaret's wishes she was cremated and no services will be held.

Memorials maybe made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
