Donald Ray Woodside

Donald Ray Woodside, age 64, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 in his home.

Donald was born on Dec. 2, 1949 in Sparta, Ill., a son to Lester and Myrtle Marie (Magerkurth) Woodside. On July 7, 2012 he married Caroline Jean "Jeanie" Stewart in Perryville, Mo. and she survives. He worked for Spartan Printing for 27 years and also worked for Technicolor, was Chief of Police of Coulterville, Ill. and Deputy Sheriff of Randolph County and was a truck driver for Gilster-Mary Lee. Donald was a veteran of the United States Navy, a member of the American Legion, loved riding his Harley trike, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanie Woodside of Pinckneyville, Ill.; two sons, Steven (Mary) Woodside of Coulterville, Ill. and Daniel (Kristi) Henry of Coulterville, Ill.; one daughter, Deniesa Gresham of Coulterville, Ill.; two brothers, Larry (Phyllis) Woodside of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Randy Woodside of Pinckneyville, Ill.; two sisters, Judith Davis of Nashville, Ill. and Debra (Kevin) Heggemeier of Coulterville, Ill.; one brother-in-law, Max McKenzie, 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Russell Woodside; two sisters, Sharon Sides and Norma McKenzie and one brother-in-law, David Davis.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home Pinckneyville, Ill. on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 at 10 a.m. with Tom Kalusing officiating. Interment will be in Concord Baptist Cemetery in Rice, Ill.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, Ill. on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
