Costello, Enyart & Quinn cut ribbon on new Stan Musial Veterans Bridge

Officials cut the ribbon to dedicate the new Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014. Congressman Bill Enyart (D-Illinois) saluted veterans past and present Saturday as he joined federal and state officials in opening the new Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge between Southern Illinois and St. Louis. The new $230 million structure will carry Interstate 70 over the Mississippi River and opens to traffic on Sunday, February 9. Elected officials from Illinois and Missouri came together with U.S. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx at the state line on the bridge deck Saturday afternoon to officially dedicate the structure. "Whether you are active duty or an old soldier like me - today is your day," said Enyart, a retired two-star general and former Adjutant General of the Illinois National Guard. "I couldn't be prouder that this bridge will honor the service and sacrifice that every generation has made - and continues to make for us."
