Dennie Kames

Dennie Kames, 83, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:22 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at the Fairview Healthcare and Rehab Center in Du Quoin.

Dennie had been a self-employed appliance repairman and had run a bicycle shop his entire life. He was a member of the Faith Liberty Mission Church in Du Quoin.

He was born Feb. 10, 1931 at St. Louis, Mo., the son of Andrew and Ethel (Taylor) Kames.

Dennie married Yovonnia (Voyles) Hill on July 18, 1976 at Royalton, Ill. and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, four step children- Michael Blagg of Du Quoin, Iva Gant of Christopher, Marilyn Cavins of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Tina Shiers and husband Rich of Mt. Pulaski, Ill., eight grandsons, one granddaughter and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Pastor Max Voyles officiating.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Tamaroa Cemetery at Tamaroa.
