Marcella Majewski
Marcella Majewski, 79, of Tamaroa, passed away at 9:25 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 at her residence with her children and sister by her side.
Marcella was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois. She was also a member of Catholic Daughters and St. Theresa Altar Sodality.
She was born Jan. 11, 1935 at Todds Mill, Ill., the daughter of Peter and Gertrude (Dalman) Ochap.
She married Raymond E. Majewski on Aug. 22, 1955 at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Scheller, Ill. and he preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1999.
She is survived by eight children - Carol Porter and husband Roger of Pinckneyville, Marie Hamilton and husband Scott of Duffield, Va., Kathy Peek and husband Tom of Columbia, Mo., Donna Stanhouse and husband Jim of Eureka Springs, Ark., Robert Majewski and wife Lisa of Waltonville, Ill., David Majewski of Tamaroa, Richard Majewski of Tamaroa, and Renee Wyatt and husband Eric of Dallas, Tex., one sister - Celestine Borowiak and husband Ed of Mt. Vernon, Ill., 13 grandchildren - Matthew Porter, Neal Porter and wife Becca, Jillian Porter, Megan Kindle and husband Brandon, Katie Hamilton, Rebecca Stanhouse, Jacob Stanhouse, Shelby Majewski, Ryan Majewski, Andrea Wolgan and husband Erik, Glen Majewski and wife Loni, Kayleigh Majewski, Malcolm Wyatt and one grandchild on the way, two great grandchildren - Josie Porter and Jack Wolgan and one great grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois with Fr. Oliver Nwachukwu officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois.
Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois.
Burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery at Du Bois.
Friends may make memorials to Masses, St. Charles Catholic Church Renovation Fund or VNA TIP Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
