Elverado Foundation mini-grants total $4,310

The Elverado Education Foundation has awarded 10 Elverado School District teachers with 11 grants totaling $4,310. These grants will enhance the learning of all students throughout the Elverado School District.

Applications were due in the district office on Dec 17, 2013. An EEF review committee evaluated all applications. Checks were awarded on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, during Elverado School District's January school improvement workshops. Recipients are:

Elverado Primary School

•Linda Yates for sound amplification system for classroom and Dana Yates for classroom audio system.

Elverado Intermediate School

•Kacie Lang for projector upgrade and Pamela McCollom for Dragon Speak software and accessories.

Elverado Jr.High School

•Barb Brock for continuation of The Giver Series, Wendy Doerr for Scholastic Scope Magazine for 2014-15 school year, Zach Schumacher for Across Five Aprils books and a television announcement board and Ashley Young for Everyone Reads (MPC Players & gift card).

Elverado High School

•Tim Linduska for A.T.C. Artist Trading Card materials and Mary Bess Williams for Experiencing AIMS (Adventures in Medicine and Science), St. Louis University. Mary Bess Williams also received another $500 Classroom Empowerment Grant from Egyptian Electric Cooperative Association. This grant will cover the cost of new science equipment and lab material.

The Elverado Education Foundation Board is grateful to all Elverado parents, administration, staff and alumni who have generously supported the Foundation in its first year.
