Perry assessor achieves 1.000 tax multiplier again

The Illinois Department of Revenue has certified the 2013 real estate tax multiplier applied to properties in Perry County for the upcoming extension of taxes as 1.000.

What that means is that Perry County Supervisor of Assessments John Batteau and his staff did their job well this past year in fairly assessing properties in Perry County.

There were no extraordinary circumstances to change values so the Department of Revenue has changed this 1.000 benchmark from a tentative multiplier to the final multiplier for the county.

Concluding his assessment work on time assures that tax bills will be mailed on time and various taxing districts will begin getting their money on time.
