County board votes to participate in federal surplus purchasing program
The Perry County Board quickly handled some routine matters at their first meeting of the month of July 3. The next regular meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 17.
The board:
• passed a resolution authorizing the county to participate in the federal surplus property purchasing program.
• passed a resolution approving raffle licenses for PCH Community Education Committee and SIH Foundation.
• passed a resolution approving special use permits for Jason Sauerhage to re-occupy a mobile home on Rose of Sharon Road and Cecil W. Daily and Gary Eisenhauer to place new mobile homes on Sassafras and Lilypad Roads, respectively.
• passed a resolution appointing Bob Marlow and Sherry Dunn to the Mental Health Board. Their terms will end June 30, 2018.
• heard from Solid Waste coordinator Becky Tracy that she has purchased maps of Perry and Randolph Counties that have recycling information on the back. The funds came from a recycling grant. The maps are available to the public at the Government Building. Tracy also announced that the public garden plot behind the building has been tilled. Plants should go in soon. Additional plants will be added in the fall. The tilling was delayed by recent rains.
