Marshall Browning launches new web-based patient health portal
Marshall Browning Hospital is pleased to unveil their new Patient Health Portal referred to as "My MBH Portal," which is now available to all patients visiting the hospital after July 1, 2014. This interactive web portal will empower patients and their families to take a more active role in their care by providing easy, secure access to their health information.
The health portal is available over the internet, which means that patients can use it from virtually anywhere. "My MBH Portal" gives patients access to their health information, including laboratory and radiology results (for procedures completed after July 1, 2014), medications, allergies, demographic information, visit history, discharge/aftercare information, and more. Results will be available over the portal approximately 72 hours after they are recorded in the patient record. This allows time for the attending physicians to receive the results and review them with the patient if necessary. In addition to handling their own care, parents and health care proxies with authorized consent will appreciate the ability to access the records of those individuals for whom they manage care.
When patients register for services at Marshall Browning Hospital, they will be asked to give their email address. This is required to access the health portal. Marshall Browning Hospital staff will provide the patient with their Medical Record number either during their registration process (outpatient services) or during the discharge process (Swing Bed or Inpatient Service). Once the patient is home, they may visit the hospital website at www.marshallbrowninghospital.com and click on the link "My MBH Portal." This will launch the patient into the Self Enrollment fields for the portal. After successful enrollment, the patient will be sent an email to the address they provided to Marshall Browning Hospital registration staff. This will give you a temporary user ID and password. Click on the link in the email to continue to the "My MBH Portal." On your first visit you will be asked a series of security questions and to change your password for your own protection.
The health portal features a central appointment page which will display a list of scheduling and pending appointments for patients. Patients enrolled in the portal will receive email notifications alerting them to any new activity on their portal.
The portal is completely secure, so you can be confident that your private information is protected. Only you - or an authorized family member - can access your portal.
