Letha Johnson

Letha (Barnett) Johnson, 92, of Esparto, Calif., formerly of Elkville, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Woodland, Calif.

Letha was a homemaker and had worked as a welder on ships during World War II in Washington State.

She was born Sept. 9, 1921 at De Soto, Ill., the daughter of Julian and Stella (Shelton) Barnett.

She married Donald Johnson in 1944 and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons - Gary Johnson of Livermore, Calif. and Donald Johnson and wife Pam of Woodland, Calif., two grandchildren - Jessika Johnson and Zach Johnson, two great grandchildren - Dean Johnson and Zoe Johnson, two sisters - Mary Underwood of Elkville and Inis Drake of Du Quoin, one brother - Norman Barnett of Murphysboro, two nieces - Mary Sikorski and Linda Ellet and husband Rick, all of De Soto, and one nephew - Rick Barnett and wife Debby of Port Charlotte, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers - Harlin Barnett, Cleadus Barnett and Leslie Barnett.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014 at the Hallidayboro Cemetery at Hallidayboro with Bro. Jerry Aken officiating.

Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Burial will be in the Hallidayboro Cemetery at Hallidayboro.
