Vincent J. Mannino Sr.
Vincent J. Mannino Sr., 89, of Waterloo, Ill., passed away Friday, Aug. 15, 2014 in Waterloo, Ill.
He was born March 4, 1925 in Du Quoin, Ill. to the late Salvatore & Francesca (nee Mangiapane) Mannino.
He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Church, graduate of St. Henry's Preparatory Seminary in Belleville, Ill., attended St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology in St. Meinrad, Ind. and a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran.
Surviving are his children, Kathryn (Keith) Schopp, Vincent (Patti) Mannino II, Frances Mannino and Thomas (Lori) Mannino; grandchildren, Michelle (Paul) Skaggs, Anna (Mason) Williams, Nolan Mannino, Ian Mannino, Chris Marshall and Julia Belz; great-granddaughter, Riley Skaggs; brother-in-law, Gene Brock; sister-in-law, Lucille Mulligan; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Mannino (nee Eiskant); parents, Salvatore and Francesca (nee Mangiapane) Mannino; siblings, Vito Mannino, Ida Groh, Natale Mannino, Santina Wilbern, Margaret Brock and Frances Wilbern; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and good friend, Father Francis Seyer.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20 at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Waterloo, Ill. with Father Osang Idagbo C.M. officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Belleville, Ill.
Friends may call at Quernheim Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19 and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to Oak Hill Activity Fund, Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo, Ill. or St. Meinrad Seminary in St. Meinrad, Indiana.
