Nettie Belle Lemmon
Nettie Belle Lemmon, 98, of Tamaroa, passed away at 3:36 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 at the Coulterville Care Center in Coulterville.
Nettie had been a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tamaroa. She had been a former Sunday School teacher and a choir member. Nettie was also a member of Eastern Star.
She was born Sept. 27, 1916 at Tamaroa, Ill., the daughter of Thomas H. and Callie (Overturff) Clay.
She married Weldon John Lemmon in 1933 at Tamaroa, Ill. and he preceded her in death on June 30, 1972.
She is survived by one daughter - Ramona Plumlee and husband Ken of Tamaroa, one daughter-in-law - Dolores Lemmon of Tamaroa, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one on the way, one great great grandchild and special nieces - Mary Ann Brandon of Tamaroa and Hazel Peterson of Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son - Clay Lemmon, one grandchild - Ramona Renee Lemmon, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Rev. Raymond Baggott officiating.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Burial will be in the Mueller Hill Cemetery at Pinckneyville.
Friends may make memorials to the First Baptist Church in Tamaroa and will be accepted at the funeral home.
