Lois E. Bowlin

Lois E. Bowlin, 100, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:20 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014 at her residence.

Lois was a homemaker. She was a member of the Spirit of Life Christian Church in Du Quoin.

She was born April 15, 1914 at Du Quoin, Ill. the daughter of Silas and Lena Belle (Eubanks) Hawk.

She married Amos Bowlin on Sept. 19, 1933 at Sunfield, Ill. and he preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 1989.

She is survived by one daughter- Marilyn Melvin of Du Quoin, eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter- Carolyn Wheatley, two sons- Everett Lee Bowlin and John Bowlin, great grandson-Cory Shaw, great great grandson- Cayden Shaw, three brothers- Kenneth Hawk, Lybrand Hawk and Ernest Hawk.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Gerald Wright officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
