Mary M. Smith

Mary M. (Polito) Smith, 97, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin.

She was born Jan. 14, 1917 at Du Quoin, Ill., the daughter of Bruno and Pearl Polito.

She married Percy Smith on Jan. 17, 1934 at DeSoto, Ill. and he preceded her in death on July 4, 2004.

She is survived by one son - Fred Lee Smith and wife Val of Lemon Grove, Calif., one sister - Edith Kunce of Carbondale, Ill., nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one daughter - Rosa Lee LeTourneau.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the First Baptist Church Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
