LaVerne Restoff
LaVerne Restoff, 67, of Scheller, passed away at 10:02 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Tamaroa, Ill., surrounded by her family.
LaVerne had worked for the United States Postal Service for 21 years. She had been Post Master at Scheller, Ill. for the past seven years. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois. As much as she loved her children, the light of her life was her grandchildren. Together they spent many hours fishing in the pond behind the house, baking cookies or just curled up together on the couch watching movies. She loved and appreciated farming and the country life and instilled those values in her family as well. She cherished her "sister days" that were spent with Chris, JoAnn and Sharon. Her genuine caring spirit will be greatly missed and she will be remembered as a strong, loving, devoted wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend.
She was born June 20, 1947 at Du Bois, Ill., the daughter of John and Josephine (Rybacki) Dalman.
She married Eugene Restoff on Nov. 23, 1967 at Du Bois, Ill. and he survives.
