Cleota G. Dearing

Cleota G. Dearing, 89, of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:12 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014 at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital at Pinckneyville.

Cleota had worked for Ed Lee Bookkeeping for years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Du Quoin. She had been a member of Illinois Alpha Tau Masters for over 50 years and was also a member of the Du Quoin Garden Club.

She was born Oct. 29, 1925 at Mt. Vernon, Ill., the daughter of Rufus and Ada (Greenwood) Cox.

She married Carl E. Dearing on June 29, 1946 at Du Quoin, Ill. and he preceded her in death on June 1, 1984.

She is survived by two daughters - Pat Korbar and husband Gary and Renee Dorsey and husband Gary, all of Du Quoin, four grandchildren - Todd Korbar, Rebecca Korbar, Collin Dorsey and Maddison Dorsey and four great grandchildren - Alexis Korbar, Mallory Korbar, Austin Korbar and Aaron Korbar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother - Jack Gihl.

Private family graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with Pastor Terry Brace officiating.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Perry County Humane Society or the Du Quoin Library and will be accepted at the funeral home.
