Harold D. Provart
Harold D. Provart, 88, of Herrin, formerly of Du Quoin, passed away 12:04 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2014 at the Herrin Hospital in Herrin.
Harold was a retired farmer.
He was one of the founding members of Du Quoin Fellowship Church in Du Quoin and later attended Liberty Church in Du Quoin and Community of Faith in Marion. He was also former member of the Du Quoin Rotary Club, Farm Bureau Board, Du Quoin School Board and a founding member of Five Star Industries in Du Quoin.
Harold was born May 28, 1926 in Perry County, Ill. to Orlie and Marie (Krone) Provart.
Harold was united in marriage with Delores "Pat" Worthen on July 20, 1950 in Pinckneyville, Ill. She preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 1997.
Surviving are, son and daughter-in-law- Jeff and Sherie Provart of Du Quoin, daughter and son-in-law- Elizabeth "Beth" and Rev. Dr. Troy Benitone of Herrin, nine grandchildren- Rachael Provart of Du Quoin, Martha (Paul) Numi of Pinckneyville, Mary (Jeremy) Jackson of Pinckneyville, Jon Provart of Du Quoin, SSGT Joey (Megon) Provart of Hurbert, NC, Heather (Tad) Rogers of Hernando, Miss., Joshua (Sarah) Benitone of Chatham, Caleb Benitone of St. Louis, Mo., Megan Benitone of Herrin, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Patty Provart; brother, Victor Provart and two sisters, Marilyn Newby and Phyllis Armstrong.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 at Liberty Church, 680 West Main Street, Du Quoin, Ill. with Pastor Lon McPherson and Rev. Dr. Troy Benitone officiating. Interment will be in Paradise Cemetery at Tamaroa. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Liberty Church in Du Quoin. Memorial donations may be made to Hands of Hope Foundation, 5208 Meadowland Parkway, Marion, IL 62959; envelopes will be available at the church.
