Lindell G. Smith
Lindell G. Smith, 64, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:33 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Lindell had worked as a motorman for Marissa Mine Peabody Coal. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Christopher. He was also a member of UMW of A.
He was born Jan. 18, 1950 at Thompsonville, Ill., the son of Earl W. and Beta (Sullivan) Smith.
He married Mary Frances Kilmer on June 1, 1968 at Du Quoin, Ill. and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two sons - Kenneth G. Smith and wife Lisa and Lonnie D. Smith and wife Mary Ellen, all of Dowell, his twin brother - Wendell Smith and wife Karen of Christopher, two sisters - Phyllis Ann Flenner of Christopher and Lavelle Robertson and husband John of Florida, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Bro. George Marshall officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Smith Cemetery at Christopher, Ill.
Friends may make memorials to Perry County Humane Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
