Clarence Spigel Storey Jr.

Clarence Spigel Storey Jr., 89, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2014 at the Marshall Browning Hospital at Du Quoin.

Clarence had been a retired carpenter. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Clarence had served as a Sergeant with the Company B 513th Parachute Infantry at Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He had received the Purple Heart, American Theater Campaign Medal, EAME Campaign Medal with three Bronze Stars and one Bronze Arrowhead, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. Clarence was a life member of the Du Quoin V.F.W., a member of the Du Quoin American Legion and the Du Quoin Eagles Lodge.

He was born June 25, 1925 at Victoria, Tex., the son of Clarence Spigel and Sophia Elsie (Carson) Storey.

He married Alice Crow and she preceded him in death.

He is survived by three daughters - Jackie Morgan and husband Jerry of Du Quoin, Melissa Beth Storey of Dallas, Tex. and Leona, one sister - Pat Jensen of San Antonio, Tex., six grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sons - Clarence Spigel Storey III, Daniel Merritt Storey and David Earl McWilliams, one brother - Evans Storey and two sisters - Alice Evans and Benny Whitlock.

Per Clarence's request, cremation rites will be conducted. There will be no public visitation or services held.

Friends may make memorials to the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
