Edwin J. Nowak

Edwin J. Nowak, 89, of Tamaroa, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Edwin retired as an Operator at Monsanto Co. after 35 plus years of service.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Edwin was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin.

He was born April 4, 1925 at East St. Louis, Ill. the son of Joseph and Josephine (Wozny) Nowak.

Edwin married Agnes Virginia Manestar on June 18, 1949 at East St. Louis, Ill. and she passed away on Aug. 29, 2012.

He is survived by two daughters- Eileen Nowak of Tamaroa and Kathleen Struss and husband Mark of Abilene, Kans., grandson- David Struss of Manhattan, Kans., sister- Pauline Sebescak of Sullivan, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Fr. Joseph Oganda officiating.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to Masses or the Sacred Heart Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
