Gladys Pearl Hampleman
Gladys Pearl Hampleman, 94, of Tamaroa, passed away at 6:01 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014 at the Fairview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Du Quoin.
Gladys had been a homemaker. She had also been a nurse's aide and a cook at Fairview Nursing Center in Du Quoin. Gladys was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tamaroa and had been a former Sunday School teacher.
She was born March 8, 1920 at Tamaroa, Ill., the daughter of David and Nellie (Booker) Harris.
She married Dean Hampleman on Feb. 1, 1936 at Tamaroa, Ill. and he preceded her in death on May 25, 1976.
She is survived by one son - Ron Hampleman and wife Debbie of Whittington, Ill., one daughter - Shirley Downs and husband Bob of Tamaroa, five grandchildren - Kathy Tanner and husband Terry, Lora Downs, Matt Hampleman and wife Leslie, Scott Hampleman and wife Judi and Christa Hampleman and Don Huite, six great grandchildren - Ryan Schumaier and Tina Hill, Staci Schumaier and Matt Abney, Michael Hampleman, Matison Hampleman, Rheese Hampleman and Mason Hampleman and four great great grandchildren - Haydin Abney, Chase Abney, John Hiltner and Brendan Hiltner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers - Warren, Archie, Arthur, Georgey, Johnny and Albert and four sisters - Dorothy, Ollie, Ila and Edith.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Rev. Raymond Baggott officiating.
Friends may call from 12 noon until the time of service on Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Burial will be in the Paradise Cemetery at Tamaroa, Ill.
Friends may make memorials to First Baptist Church in Tamaroa or Celtic Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
