Angelina Loiacono

Angelina 'Angie' Loiacono, 88, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:40 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Angie had been a homemaker, a farmer's wife and a loving mother. She had graduated from Christopher High School. Angie was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin, Catholic Daughters and Sacred Heart Quilters. She had also helped with the funeral dinners for Sacred Heart in years past.

She was born Nov. 9, 1926 at Christopher, Ill., the daughter of John and Antonia (Andrighetti) Toigo.

She married Sam Loiacono Jr. on Feb. 14, 1953 at Christopher, Ill. and he preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 1996.

She is survived by two sons - Sam A. Loiacono and wife Pam of Du Quoin and John A. Loiacono and wife Teresa of Houston, Tex., one daughter - Christina Cuppett and husband Bill of St. Louis, Mo., six grandchildren - Michelle Rybacki and husband Jarod, Sam Loiacono, Will Cuppett, Angelo Loiacono, Tony Loiacono and Katy Cuppett, two sisters - Lorena Rea of Christopher, Ill. and Adeline Walker of Herrin, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 12 brothers and sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Fr. Joseph Oganda officiating.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to Masses or American Kidney Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
