Carol Robinson
Carol 'Sue' Robinson, 77, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:03 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2014 at the Fairview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Sue worked as an Administrator at the Fairview Nursing Center from 1974-1997. Sue was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin, a graduate of SIU, a member of the Marshal Browning Hospital Auxiliary, Perry Co. Republican Womens Club, Perry Co. Home Extension, Red Hatters Society, United Methodist Women, American Health Care Administrators Association and SIU alumni. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, loved all sports and was a Cub Scout Den Mother.
Sue was born Sept. 18, 1937, in Joinerville, Tex., the daughter of L.R. and Lada G. (Hooks) Taylor.
Sue married Charles Lee Robinson on Aug. 22, 1958 in McLeansboro and he preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 2001.
She is survived by three sons - Jeff Robinson and wife Chandra of Du Quoin, Doug Robinson of Harlingen, Tex. and Brent Robinson and wife Patricia of Energy, four grandchildren - Connie Beth Robinson, Cameron Robinson, Caleb Robinson and Afton Robinson, one great-grandchild - Brooke Robinson, one special niece - Linda Upchurch and other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers - Cameron Taylor and Raymond Taylor and one sister - Betty Ann Upchurch.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Jarrett Wells officiating.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014 at the Knights Prairie Cemetery in McLeansboro, Ill.
Burial will be at the Knights Prairie Cemetery in McLeansboro, Ill.
Friends may make memorials to Fairview Nursing Center or Celtic Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
