Charles R. Davis

Charles R. 'Chuck' Davis, 78, of Moline, Ill., formerly of Du Quoin, passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 at Country Manor in Davenport, Iowa.

Services were held Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015 at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory Ltd. in East Moline, Ill.

Chuck was born March 28, 1936 in Du Quoin, Ill. He graduated from Du Quoin High School. He served in the United States Army from 1956 until he was discharged in 1962. During his time in the service he was a cryptographer in Frankfurt, Germany. He became a member of the Moline Fire Department in July of 1966, retiring as Captain in August of 1992.

Chuck enjoyed boating and has a huge interest in Native American Indians.

He is survived by his wife- Kathy, daughter- Shelley Hanson, son- Bradley Davis, stepdaughters- Desiree and Amanda Grace, stepson- Daniel Grace, sister- Betty Krone and uncle- Galen Davis of Du Quoin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marian (Stull) Davis.

Memorials may be made in Chuck's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
