Janet Kimmel
Janet Kimmel, age 83, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015 at 10:27 a.m. in Sparta Community Hospital Emergency Room, Sparta, Ill.
Janet was born on Aug. 2, 1931 in Du Quoin, Ill., a daughter to Leslie and Ethel (Shute) Hawkins. On March 8, 1952, she married Ted Kimmel in Pinckneyville, Ill. and he preceded her in death on June 5, 2009 after 57 years of marriage. She was a member of Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill., and had worked as a seamstress at Pinckneyville Garment Factory, Pinckneyville, Ill. She enjoyed walking and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her two daughters, Teddi (Carl Dean) Gladson and Gayle (Kevin) Vandiver, all of Pinckneyville, Ill.; a brother, Doug (Sue) Hawkins of Pinckneyville, Ill.; a sister, Jean Hall of Troy, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Eugene Pulke of Pinckneyville, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Hepp and Hazel Hepp, both of Pinckneyville, Ill.; five grandchildren, Seth (Menaka) Gladson of Chesterfield, Mo., Autumn (Brian) Harthill of St. Charles, Mo., Abbi Kimmel Karcher of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Annie Vandiver (fiancée, Aaron Dail) of Murray, Ky. and Drew (Laci Harper) Vandiver of Tilden, Ill. and six great-grandchildren, Nolan Gladson, Niraj Gladson, Hailey Vandiver, Nathan Gladson, Meera Gladson and Henry Harthill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Tom Feltmeyer; husband; two brothers, Bob Hepp and Harlan Hepp and a sister, Billie Mae Pulke.
Funeral services will be held at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Mark Lee officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.
Friends may call at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Beaucoup Baptist Church.
