Five names so far for Du Quoin school board

As the Du Quoin Board of Education heads into its Thursday meeting to consider filling the vacancy of the late Charles "Beaver" Rice, five names have been placed in nomination. They are: Pat Ferrari, Jim Rodenbush, David Martin, Patty James and Keenan Rice. The public has until noon Thursday to submit names of nominees to fill the unexpired term. The only other items on the agenda are the Vision 20/20 statewide initiative, the 2015-2016 school calendar, employment of a DMS assistant volleyball coach, appointing a senior class sponsor and hiring an elementary school cook.
