Weather may allow concrete pouring at new hospital
There has been no time lost due to weather on the construction of the new Pinckneyville Community Hospital. However, some outside concrete work has been delayed due to low temperatures. Site Superintendent Jimmy Hunter said he hopes the warm-up late this week will allow concrete to be poured in several areas.
Work began in C South and that continues to be the most complete section. Finish work including paint, flooring and tiling continue moving from C South to C North into the A Section then down to the B Sections. Section D will be the last completed.
Hunter said that by the next OAC meeting, the drywall should be finished in Section D.
The board continued a discussion about a sterilizer which began at their January board meeting. Board member Dr. Bill Roe summed up the issue in the board's need to know if the current equipment is adequate and would be in compliance with current rules if moved to the new facility.
IDPH will inspect the progress on the new facility the week of Feb. 2.
