Harry E. Morgan
Harry E. Morgan, 80, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:07 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Harry had worked at Midwest Dairy for 16 years and had worked in the tipple at the Freeman Coal Company, Fidelity Mine in Du Quoin, retiring in 1992.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Du Quoin where he had served as a deacon and had worked with the R.A. boys at the church. He had also been a Cub Scout master and also volunteered at the Du Quoin Food Pantry.
He was born Oct. 20, 1934, at Tamaroa, Illinois, the son of George A. and Ethel A. (Newhouse) Morgan.
He married Mildred M. Malinski on Jan. 22, 1955 at Pinckneyville, Illinois and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, daughter-Debbie Herron and husband James of Lenexa, Kansas, son-Randal E. Morgan and wife Rhonda of Marion, four grandchildren-Jeremy Herron of Lenexa, Kansas, Justin Morgan and wife Jenna of Marion, Travis Morgan and wife Leslie of Franklin, Tennessee and Corey Morgan of Edwardsville, Illinois, seven great-grandchildren-Joshua, Jessica and Samantha, all of Lenexa, Kansas, Bailee, Brockton and Logan, all of Marion, and Rhett of Franklin, Tennessee, a sister-in-law-Virginia Morgan of Herrin, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-William A. Morgan.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the First Baptist Church of Du Quoin Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
