Alice Marie Eubanks

Alice Marie Eubanks, 95, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:54 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015 at her residence.

Alice had been a dispatcher for the Du Quoin Police Department. She had also worked in packaging in the meat boxing department at Blue Bell Packing. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin. She was a U.S. Navy Waves veteran of World War II. Alice had been in boot camp at Cedar Falls, Iowa with the first class of Waves. She was then stationed at the Seattle Naval Air Station. She was a member of the Du Quoin V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion, Catholic Daughters of America, Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary and Women In Military Service of America.

She was born Feb. 7, 1920 at Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Ransom E. and Helen J. (Jaroski) Kinman.

She married Henry Eubanks on July 4, 1953 at Pinckneyville, Ill. and he preceded her in death on July 9, 2001.

She is survived by three children - Ruth Marie Belcher of Hampton, Va., Carl Eubanks and wife Laurie of Nashville, Ill. and Donna Scro and husband Nick of Du Quoin, one sister - Ruth Gaerig of Dearborn, Mich., six grandchildren - Michael Belcher of Stewartstown, Pa., Pamela Furrow and husband Bill of Hampton, Va., John Belcher and wife Cathy of Du Quoin, Kyle Anderson of Bloomington, Ill., Kristin Wright and husband John of Du Quoin and Kasey Anderson and wife Lydia of Wilson, N.C., four step grandchildren - Kelly Ramsey and husband Greg of Thompsonville, Ill., Nicholas Scro and wife Erin of Thompsonville, Ill., Grant McClintock of Columbia, Mo. and Caitlin McClintock of Creve Coeur, Mo. and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and step father - George Jasecko.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Fr. Joseph Oganda officiating.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion and the United States Navy.

Friends may make memorials to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Masses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
