Frieda P. Zettler
Frieda P. Zettler, 89, of Tamaroa, passed away at 12:08 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Frieda had worked as an LPN at Marshall Browning Hospital. She had also worked for Dr. Kudva's office and for D.C.F.S. She was of the Baptist faith. Frieda was a member of Home Extension for many years and loved to garden and quilt.
She was born Sept. 15, 1925 at Pinckneyville, Ill., the daughter of Herman and Minnie (Telkemeyer) Walters.
She married John R. Zettler on April 12, 1943 at St. Louis, Mo. and he preceded her in death on May 5, 2011.
She is survived by two sons - Randy Zettler and wife Terri and Mark Zettler and wife Lisa, all of Tamaroa, two grandchildren - Joshua Zettler and wife Tara of Marion, Ill. and Jessica Lore and husband Steve of Chicago, Ill., three great grandchildren - Noah Zettler, Julia Zettler and Lyla Zettler, all of Marion, IL and another great grandchild on the way, two sisters - Carol Jahn of Chicago, Ill. and Norma Lee of Bedford Heights, Ohio, two brothers - Alex Walters and wife Judy of Mount Vernon, Ill. and Jerry Heape and wife Lynn of Huntsville, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter - Karen Faye Zettler, two brothers - Henry 'Hank' Walters and John Dale Walters and one sister in infancy - Rosalyn Walters.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Josh Zettler and Earl Smith officiating.
Friends may call from Noon until the time of service on Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Scholarship for Nursing at the Du Quoin High School and will be accepted at the funeral home.
