Du Quoin art educator Candace Campanella to host Kids Art Show on Thursday, April 30

The Du Quoin Middle School Art Club is hosting an "Art Show Extravagana" from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the commons at the Du Quoin Middle School.

Art instructor Candace (Manning) Campanella said the evening will include a music DJ, face painters, a coloring contest and a cardboard playhouse.

The show will feature the artwork of students from kindergarten all the way up through the 8th grade.

You will be able to see the wonderful creativity of elementary art students from grades kindergarten through fourth grade from the Du Quoin Elementary School wing of the building and the works of fifth through eighth grade from the Du Quoin Middle School wing.

The show is being put together, in part, because at least as of this writing there will be no Art on Main show in downtown Du Qoin this year and the works of these outstanding students are too great not to be shared with the public.

The show is FREE to students, parents and the public and it will be an event you won't want to miss.
